Social Work through Hip Hop

- A number of projects are scheduled for 2007 with some James Bay Cree communities and as well Rankin Inlet, Arctic Bay, Pond Inlet and Resolute for the Fall - BluePrintForLife

Blue Print For Life is coming to town. Who? Canadian Floor Master and his crew are coming to Rankin Inlet. For what? To connect Nunavut youth, YO! that's right, they will hang out with Rankin Inlet youth & do some fun and creative work through HipHop. When? It's gonna be an energetic week of excitement on September 4-8, 2007. Where? Come on down at Maani Ulujuk middle school (MUI) gym.

KIDFEST 2007 Press Release

Rankin Inlet will be hosting the inaugural Kivalliq Inuit Doll Festival Exhibition & Story Telling Traditions. September 8th – 15th, 2007 coinciding with the Kivalliq Arts & Crafts Festival September 11th – 13th, 2007. Each Hamlet will send three artists and Tarralikitaaq Arts will send two doll makers from each community. A schedule of events will soon be available. There will be various workshops for participants to choose from. The opening ceremony will be on the 8th of September (and we hope to have media coverage). Kugaaruk is launching a big event for arts. Activities will include training and workshops for several categories like carving, sewing, watercolor painting, etc.

Live band entertainment will rock the house; drumdancing and raffle extravaganza will flood the area. Don't miss the Artworks for Sale in your genuine finds. Exciting prizes await the winners. And they will become the delegates for Nunavut Arts Festival 2008 in Iqaluit. CU
